JAKE HORSEY

As a hardware designer and fabricator, I aim to craft objects that are scientific in nature and balanced in physical form.

My work at Cofab is centered on product engineering and new technology development. I collaborate with experts in a specific field to transform their intellectual property into functional systems that can be handed to users in hospitals labs, or other exacting environments.

My work at home consists of designing and building hand tools, restoring old equipment, and occasionally teaching fabrication techniques. The focus is on playing with materials, exploring form, and understanding history as opposed to meeting performance requirements.

December 2024: I’m currently based in Sargentville, ME, building out a workshop at home. Professionally, I am a founding partner at Cofab Design, headquartered in Holyoke, MA, at Brick Coworkshop, and serve as the COO of Open Standard Industries, Inc.

I update this site once a year with new projects and background on my work. The project pages here should be viewed as simple photo galleries instead of technical documentation, a way for me to share a window into a world. Reach out at the bottom of the page if something catches your eye or just to generally start a conversation.
